THEIR STORY
Pastor Matt & Deb met at Good News Fellowship Church in 1985. Pastor Deb was invited to church by a friend, little did she know she was about to meet her future husband, who was the young, 26 year old pastor of Good News Fellowship Church. Unlike most love stories, it was NOT love at first sight. In fact, Pastor Deb’s goal was to try and set Pastor Matt up with some of her best friends. Her plan successfully failed, and they remained friends for eight years before starting a relationship. Throughout those eight years, they faithfully served in ministry together as friends. Then came the summer of 1992. Pastor Deb was offered a job across the states, and she was torn. She told Pastor Matt and it made him realize he absolutely didn’t want to do life without her. He professed his love to her and they went from best friends, to engaged, to married in a matter of weeks. They were married on August 9th, 1992, and the rest is history!
Their love story is uniquely their own, and one thing is constant - their faithfulness to serve together. They have served in ministry together for nearly 40 years, through the ups and the downs, the highs and lows, and with Jesus at the center of their lives, they never gave up. They have had each other to lean on through it all.
We can’t wait to celebrate them on August 7th! Dinner will be provided. Feel free to bring any gifts, cards, or words of encouragement to honor this amazing couple. They certainly deserve to be celebrated!
