Day 8 | January 13, 2025 | The Invitation to Compassion

Scripture: Matthew 9:36-38 – “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them…”

Reflection: Jesus’ invitation was always motivated by compassion. As we extend our invitations, we should do so with the same heart of care and love that He showed to all people. Compassion will move you to action. It’s important to understand not only that Jesus had compassion for lost and hurting humanity but has ordained that we as believers, as His servants, operate with that same compassion.

Prayer: Father, fill me with compassion for those around me. Help me to invite others with a heart of love and care, just as You have invited me. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayer Points:

Pray that God would give you a heart of compassion for all people, just like Jesus.

• Pray for sensitivity to others’ needs.

• Ask God to help you extend invitations to others with a heart of genuine love, as Jesus invited us into His family.

• Ask God to give you the courage to take action when you feel compassion for someone.

• Pray that the people of refuge will reflect christ’s compassion.

• Ask god to forgive you if you have lacked compassion and for transformation in your heart.

• Pray for the lost, hurting, and broken people in this area and around the world. that god would give you a love and compassion for them.

• Pray fot the strength and grace to love others unconditionally.

• Ask god to help you be a vessel of his compassion.
