DAY 20 | January 20, 2024 | MORE LIFE (ζωὴν ZOE)

VERSE: John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” NKJV

From this passage we can identify two mission statements. The thief is referred to as the enemy whose mission and objective is to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus’ mission and objective in coming was that we may have life and have it more abundantly. There is certainly a distinct contrast between the two and it should be clear to the believer. We must identify what is the work of the thief verses the work of God in our life. Some fail to identify the thief and even blame God for what the devil is doing. Whatever is stealing, killing and destructive in your life is associated with the thief’s mission, not Jesus’ mission.

The fact is that Jesus wants to improve your quality of life. 

The fact of the matter is that we need more of Jesus in our life. Jesus came to share His gift of life with humanity because death reigned as a result of the fall. Jesus gives all the privilege and chance to experience and share in His eternal life which we receive as a gift.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Thank you, Lord, for giving us a greater understanding of the reason you came, that we may experience life as you experience it. Help us to live the life you meant for us to live. Help us to identify the work of the thief in contrast to your mission to give us life. Help us to reach others as we experience your abundant life.
