Agreement in Prayer

“Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:18-20 ESV

As believers we have not always understood our authority and power of agreement for effective prayer. The power that is accessed when in agreement with others in prayer should not be taken lightly or ignored in light of the battles we face in life. To agree is to say the same thing and be aligned in your faith with other believers.

Agreement in prayer requires at least two people who are likeminded in their faith regarding what they are believing God for. We must also recognize Jesus who is the unseen prayer partner among us when gathered in His name. He is among us to give us assurance of a definite answer from our heavenly Father. This is especially important in light of interpersonal conflict which is the matter of discussion in Matthew 18 when dealing with offense.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Thank you Jesus for the power of agreement in prayer as we join our faith together with other believers. We are assured and acknowledge that you are in our midst not only to hear our prayer but to bear witness of our agreement before our heavenly Father.

God bless,

Pastor Matt
