Lean on God's Strength

“Then he said to me, "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6 ESV

How often are we inclined to look to our own might, power and resources when attempting to obey an assignment from God? Zerubbabel whose task was to lead the charge to rebuild the Temple had just completed the foundation and was facing the enormous task of building upon that foundation. The Temple was no ordinary building but was to be the most magnificent of buildings in all the earth to honor the God of heaven.

The Holy Spirit desires to unleash His might and power in our lives, enabling us to do the extraordinary. There is not much that can be accomplished without His power. We must recognize and acknowledge the work of God’s Spirit in our lives to empower us to accomplish His will. Physical might and power are no match for the work of the Spirit. God’s Spirit was a prime factor in the rebuilding of the Temple for Zerubbabel and a prime factor of all He wants to do in and through us. It is not by physical might or power but by His Spirit that we are able accomplish great things.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank for the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives who enables us to accomplish great things. Thank you for enabling us to overcome every obstacle so that we can live our life to serve you in the power of your Spirit.

God Bless,

Pastor Matt
