Knowing When To Shut Up

“Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble.” Proverbs 21:23 NLT

“Keep your mouth shut,” may be sound advice depending on the situation you may be in. I don’t mean to be rude but there are times it’s best to keep your mouth shut if what you’re about to speak would be damaging to your life or hurtful to others. Sometimes the best thing you can do in a situation is to hold your peace and say nothing. There is a time to speak up when you shouldn’t remain silent.

It requires discernment to know when to speak and when to keep your mouth shut. You may not care who you offend yet if you speak your mind, or speak before you think you may end up in trouble. To stay out of trouble, its best to hold your tongue. You have the right to remain silent! Hold your peace until you have opportunity to seek out God’s before you speak. “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” Colossians 4:6 NKJV

TODAY’S PRAYER
