Search And Rescue

“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.” Ezekiel 34:11-12 ESV

Because of the spiritual condition of the nation and failure of the shepherds of Ezekiel’s day to shepherd the people, God makes a promise to go on a search and rescue mission. I believe that God is on a search and rescue mission today, recovering people from darkness. No matter where they are, where they have been or where they are have strayed, God is seeking them out. God is searching for His lost sheep and sent Jesus the Chief Shepherd who leaves the 99 for the one who is lost. God has raised up pastors (shepherds) to accomplish this work that He is working through. “And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15 ESV.

God has set ministry gifts in the church in those He has called to equip the saints for the work of ministry. “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13 ESV.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Lord, thank you for raising up shepherds after your heart to care for the flock and rescuing those who have lost their way. We are thankful for pastors that you are effectively working in and through because they are surrendered to you.

God Bless,

Pastor Matt
