The Lord Is There

“…And the name of the city from that time on shall be, The Lord Is There.” Ezekiel 48:35 ESV.

A characteristic of revival is a longing for God’s presence. The closing verse of the book of Ezekiel gives us a significant promise that the city of Jerusalem would be called by a new name; “The Lord Is There.” This new name reflects God’s heart and His desire to dwell among His people and not be separated from them. This has been His intent and desire from before the fall and since the beginning when God created mankind. The Lord longs to be where we are and we should long to be where He is. My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Psalm 84:2 ESV.

It was our sin that separated us from God and kept us from His presence. We are to stop running from God and come to Him as the prodigal son. “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.” Ephesians 2:13-15 BRG. A city called, “The Lord is There” is a great place to live.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Lord, thank you for your presence in our lives, thank you for dwelling among us. “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 ESV.

God Bless,
