Favor Ain't Fair!

“And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs.” Daniel 1:9 ESV

Daniel was a man that impacted kings and kingdoms in his generation. He was a godly leader who excelled in all that he did with the help and favor of God. While a youth in 605 B.C., Daniel was taken as a captive to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar. In captivity he became a statesman in the court of Nebuchadnezzar and Darius. Daniel was a man of prayer and godly character who faithfully served God is the midst of an ungodly culture. He was a man that walked in profound revelation, insight and divine favor which God gave him before men. Although Daniel had enemies that were jealous of him God gave him favor with the right people who could promote and defend him.

Favor is best defined as “demonstrated delight or approval.” God’s favor towards us can be described as notable evidence of His approval. Favor is associated with God’s grace by which we are saved (Ephesians 2:8–9). A demonstration of God’s grace is an extension of His favor towards us.

Someone we favor is someone we delight in or connect with and want to around. We generally favor people who favor us. We welcome God’s favor in our life when we delight in, connect with, and honor Him. The favor of God is a promise we can all walk in as His children. We can claim the favor of God in our life and walk in His favor today. “For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12 ESV.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Lord, thank you for showing us favor today in whatever situation we are facing. “For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 8:35 ESV.

God Bless,
