Undisturbed Composure

"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 ESV

One definition of peace is undisturbed composure. In this passage we see a powerful declaration over our lives of the peace of God that is provided for us all the time and given to us whenever we have need of it. The title given to Jesus, “the Lord of Peace” reveals that through His Lordship His peace will prevail in our lives, allowing us to retain undisturbed composure in whatever situation or circumstance we may face.  

A troubled heart lacks peace. The absence of peace makes you vulnerable to be overcome by the trials of life. A heart that lacks peace is easily overcome by fear, doubt and anxiety. Jesus promised the believer peace in this life. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27 ESV

TODAY’S PRAYER

Thank you Lord for giving us your peace that is not of this world. Thank you for making your peace available to us at all times and in every way for every situation.
