Day 10 | January 10

DAY 10 | January 10, 2023 | MORE FAITH

VERSE: Luke 17:5 “The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” ESV

Have you ever asked the Lord to increase your faith like the Apostles did? Lack of faith or unbelief occurs when you fail to hear God’s Word that addresses the problem you are facing. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. NKJV” If you want more faith you need to be spending time in the Word; hearing, reading, listening to and studying the scriptures. It is a present tense ‘hearing’ of the word of God that builds our faith. Romans 10:17 does not say faith comes from what we have heard in the past necessarily; it says faith comes from what we are hearing in present tense. The foundation of faith is not just established on God’s Word that you heard in the past but the revelation of His word in the present moment. Just because you heard it once does not mean you don’t need to hear it again.

It’s not “having heard”, the question is: are you hearing it now? What is God’s word speaking to you about your present circumstance or situation? If your facing fear, the Word says in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. NKJV”

Faith is NOW

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 NASB. WHAT IS FAITH? Faith is the ability to believe that something exists, which you do not presently see. Faith is defined in the Bible in the book of Hebrews, Faith is assurance and conviction that that God’s Word which is written and spoken is true. Faith is what drives ordinary people to accomplish the extraordinary.

Having faith and believing are synonymous. Our faith is our believing ability and a means to overcome the limitations we face in this life. Faith and belief in the Word of God confronts the limitations and obstacles that would hinder or stop our progress. Jesus said that our faith can remove mountains and that all things are possible for the one who believes. “All things are possible for one who believes." Mark 9:23 ESV”

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

All things are possible for the one who believes. The question is, can we believe? Believing is the ability to trust or have conviction and confidence in the existence or the reliability of something without physical proof. God’s Word can be trusted and believed and is the source, the foundation and proof of our faith. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help us to hear the word of God today that we need to for our faith to grow. Help us to overcome whatever we’re facing that is contrary to what you have declared in your Word. Lord Jesus, thank you that all things are possible for one who believes. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to believe and trust in you and your word to make all things possible. Thank you for the outcome of our faith to witness what we are believing you for to be fulfilled and come to pass.
