Day 12 | January 12
DAY 12 | January 12, 2024 | MORE TRUST
VERSE: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” ESV
We are exhorted to express wholehearted and complete trust in the Lord. As difficult as it may seem to be at times, we must understand that it’s a matter of choice and a determination of the heart to trust. We are to express, lean on and acknowledge the Lord in all our ways. To trust is to rely upon, depend on, place your confidence in, and believe in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone. We are instructed not to lean or merely depend upon on our own limited understanding of whatever situation we are facing.
We are to trust with all our heart and acknowledge Him in ALL of our ways. To acknowledge someone is to recognize them for who they are and not ignore or exclude them. So often believers ignore and exclude the Lord in their present circumstance or situation. To acknowledge is to give recognition to someone and to welcome their input and involvement. Failure to acknowledge the Lord in your situation will leave you to figure things out on your own. He will make your path straight so there will be no question concerning the direction He has for your life. A straight path is the shortest distance between two points.
"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."” Isaiah 12:2 ESV
“I will trust,” is an important statement of determination to make in the presence of fear. Fear will rule and dominate our lives until we place our trust and confidence in God and His Word. When God is our salvation we are confident to totally and completely trust Him no matter what difficulty we may face. Recognition of Him as our savior is an important element of trusting Him that we cannot ignore because it removes fear. It is Jesus Christ who is our God that has saved us from death. My challenge for today is for us to acknowledge and affirm our trust in Him. When confronted with fear, let your response be to place your trust in God.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord, thank you for the invitation to place our trust in you. We will trust you with all our heart, and refuse to lean merely on our own understanding. We choose to acknowledge you in every area of our life. Thank you for directing our steps and for making our paths straight. When we are confronted with fear, we will place our trust in you and Your Word. Help us to live our lives as examples of what it means to trust you and help others to put their trust in you.
