Acknowledge Him

“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33 ESV

Failure to acknowledge Jesus before men ultimately results in our denial of Him. Jesus is unable to acknowledge us before the Father if we deny Him before men. He gives a strong warning to those who would deny Him because of their fear of men.

At the time of Jesus trial, Peter His disciple denied that he knew Him when he was confronted by the bystanders (Mark 14:69-71). His denial was a refusal to associate with Jesus in an attempt to protect his own reputation. Peter learned a hard lesson when He denied Jesus, thankfully he repented and found forgiveness. We must acknowledge Him not only in what we say but also in what we do. We are not to live this Christian life in denial of Jesus; so often that is the case for those who are weak in faith. It’s time to acknowledge and confess Him before men. If we know Him, we should tell others and not be ashamed.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Thank you Jesus for boldness that we may acknowledge you before men. Let us not remain silent or be ashamed of who you are that we may boldly proclaim the truth of the Gospel. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…” Romans 1:16 ESV.

God bless,

Pastor Matt
