Jesus is Our Healer

“That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: "He took our illnesses and bore our diseases."” Matthew 8:16-17 ESV

The work of Jesus redemption is a work of substitution. Substitution is the act, process, or result of substituting one thing for another. Jesus not only took our sin and its penalty in exchange for forgiveness, He also took our illness and bore our sickness and disease in exchange for healing. We must believe in the substitutionary work of Jesus and accept by faith that He took our illnesses and bore our diseases so we could be healed; just as we accept that He took our sins so we could be forgiven. Jesus work of redemption not only deals with our sin but also our sickness. “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”1 Peter 2:24 NASB

If we need healing and deliverance understand that Jesus is our healer; He bore our sickness and disease so we would not have to bear it any longer. Receive your healing today by faith. If He healed all that were sick in Matthew’s account of the Gospel He will heal all that are sick today, because He is unchanging. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 ESV

TODAY’S PRAYER

Thank you Jesus for making provision for our physical healing just as you made provision for forgiveness of our sins. By faith we acknowledge that you already took our illness and bore our disease through your work of substitution. Thank you for healing our physical bodies.

God bless,

Pastor Matt
