Anxiety: Part 1

"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34 ESV

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease; typically concerning an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Anxiety is generated from the uncertainty or dread of what could happen; it is based on fear of a negative outcome of the future. Not only is anxiety a fear or nervousness about what might happen, it is also a cause for many mental and physical disorders in life. Jesus understood the plague of anxiety for mankind and addressed it.

What anxious thoughts are you struggling with right now, what circumstance or situation are you dealing with that has allowed anxiety to invade and rule your life? The Word of God gives us clear insight on how to confront, deal with and conquer anxiety. Anxiety does not have to rule or torment you any longer. Medication only addresses the symptoms of anxiety disorders, but the Word of God gets to the root of the issue. Take heed to Jesus instruction to not be anxious about tomorrow and receive the peace that comes from trusting in Him.
