God Will Never Leave Your Side

 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 ESV 

The greatest word of encouragement in scripture is the promise that God is with us and will never leave us. “…I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 ESV. The promise and assurance of His presence is a faith builder and will get us through any crisis or difficulty. Knowing He is with us in a time of discouragement is essential in helping us overcome. 

Discouragement is a feeling of lost hope, a loss of confidence or enthusiasm. It comes from people, negative circumstances and especially our own failures. Everyone faces discouragement at one time or another. It’s how we react or respond to discouragement that will either propel us forward or set us back.

An encouraging word is the best remedy for discouragement. Receiving and believing an encouraging word will get us through difficulty. Encouragement makes us more determined, hopeful, confident, and courageous to face life’s struggles. We all need encouragement and are called to encourage one another. “So encourage each other and ·give each other strength [build each other up], just as you are doing now.”1 Thessalonians 5:11 EXB

TODAY’S PRAYER 

Heavenly Father, thank for the promise of your presence that gives us strong encouragement in the face of any conflict.
