Vision for the Future

“In the third year of the reign of King Cyrus of Persia, Daniel (also known as Belteshazzar) had another vision. He understood that the vision concerned events certain to happen in the future—times of war and great hardship… 14 “Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.” Daniel 10:1, 14 NLT

Many people are intrigued by the future and some may even ponder the possibility of time travel. Imagine what it would be like if it was possible. However, just knowing and having insight about the future gives us great advantage so we can prepare for what is to come. The book of Daniel records visions and gives insight concerning the future of God’s people and events concerning the nations.

Whether we realize it or not, God desires to give us vision for the future and vision of the future. He wants to give us insight and understanding of what is to come. He does not want us to remain in the dark and struggle with the uncertainty of what the future may hold. He desires that we have insight that will give us foresight. He gives us insight and foresight that allows us to make decisions today that will position us and benefit us for tomorrow. The role of the Holy Spirit in our life is to declare to us things to come, which refers to the future. Not only will He guide us on our journey today but He will reveal what is to come. “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13 ESV

TODAY’S PRAYER

Lord, thank you for giving us insight into the future so that we can make correct decisions today. Regardless of how uncertain the future may be, we thank you that you have not left us to face it on our own.

God Bless,

Pastor Matt
