Discernment - Part 3

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 ESV

Discernment is greatly needed in this life; if we don’t have great discernment we are prone to become victims of great deception. We gain discernment through the renewing of our mind when we acquire knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. In the context of Romans 12:2, to exercise discernment we must first determine that we will not be conformed to the pattern of this world’s ungodly influence. Refusal to be conformed to the world is a test. We choose not be conformed to this world and are transformed by the renewing of our minds so we can discern God’s will. Through the renewing of our minds to the Word of God we are positioned to discern His will.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Thank you Heavenly Father for giving us discernment concerning your will through the renewing of our mind. Thank you for helping us discern what is your good, acceptable and perfect will.
