Haste

“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5 ESV 

You may have heard it said, “If you fail to plan then you plan to fail.” Planning is essential for success in life. Planning always refers to the future; it’s deciding the what, when and where of any activity. Failure to include God in the planning process and involving His input is a mistake. People come to God with their plan without His input and want Him to bless it; when they should be seeking for God’s plan for their life because it’s already blessed.

Haste is an enemy to effective planning. Most successful plans are well thought out, strategic and consider a future outcome. Effective planning requires adequate time and should not be rushed. “…whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.” Proverbs 19:2 ESV. Decisions made yesterday determine where you are at in life today, so plan for the future with God’s purpose in mind. “Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” Proverbs 23:18 ESV.

TODAY’S PRAYER 

Heavenly Father, we pray for wisdom to recognize and discover the plans you have for our life. We determine to put you first and ask for self-control so that we will not respond in haste, in Jesus Name.
