The Reward For Humility

“The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.” Proverbs 22:4 ESV 

Humility is often overlooked on the road to success, yet it brings a reward that others attempt to achieve through worldly methods or a counterfeit plan of action. Humility must never be viewed as a weakness; it must be viewed as a strength of one’s character. Humility coupled with the fear of the Lord is rewarded with riches, honor and life which many are seeking through alternate methods. Success from the world’s standpoint is defined differently because it does not include God. However, humility is a sure way to success in life from God’s perspective, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” James 4:10 ESV.

Most people desire to succeed, but often their success comes at an awful price because they don’t choose God’s plan to attain it. Riches, honor and life is not the goal of humility it is the result of humility. God’s road to success requires humility and a reverence for Him. True success in life is finding the will of God for our life and living our life to fulfill it. “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12 ESV.

TODAY’S PRAYER 

Heavenly Father, help us to exhibit a sincere humility that postures us for true success in life. We humble our self before you in Jesus Name. Jesus, we acknowledge you as the Lord of our life and submit our will to you.
