Fear Not

“Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; 26 For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.” Proverbs 3:25-26 NKJV

It is unfortunate that we are living in a day that terrorism is threat to our society and people are living in fear. However, we no longer have to dread the unknown because we have a promise from God’s Word to stand on. Do not be afraid isn’t just a suggestion, it is a command. The command to “not be afraid” or to “fear not” is mentioned over 200 times in the Bible. To be afraid is a result of a lack of confidence in the Lord. The promise is evident that the Lord will be our confidence and keep us safe. We must place our confidence in the Lord, it’s a command with a promise! “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 ESV. How wonderful and reassuring is this?

When Jesus shows up there is nothing to fear, He is not only with us but He lives in us. “…Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” Matthew 14:27 ESV

 TODAY’S PRAYER

Thank you Lord, for being our confidence. We will not be afraid of sudden terror or live in fear any longer because of who you are in our life. Help us to identify fear and overcome fear and terror in our lives. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV.

God bless,

Pastor Matt
